Casa Bella de Medanales
Our tour continues with the second bathroom, which sits directly between the second bedroom (to the right) and the master suite (to the left).

Once again we are impressed with the attention to detail. This pocket door features inlaid tinwork, and iron hardware. Matching hardware can be found just beyond this door, inside the bathroom.
This very large second bathroom comes with lots of built in storage, a full size tub with shower, and traditional southwest tile work on the vanity.

The shower area, complete with custom tile work, has a handy built-in shelf; reducing clutter around the tub, and keeping needed supplies at a comfortable reach.

The overhead skylight floods the bathroom with a good dose of natural light during the day.

The beautifully patinad mirror above the vanity was commissioned from a local artist.
This is truly a gorgeous bathroom, but it pales in comparison to the master bath. Let's go have a look, right after we tour the master bedroom . . .
If, indeed, a "man's home is his castle," you'll defiintely feel like royalty when you enter your master bedroom. As you enter from the front hall, you'll notice a transom window (out of view in this photo) just above the door; enabling ventilation, while maintaining privacy.

The master suite has soaring ceilings, its own kiva fireplace, enjoys passive solar heat, and has patio doors leading out to a private walled patio area. Clearstory windows above the patio doors flood the room with natural light and uninterrupted views of Black Mesa and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
The built-in banco invites you to sit for a spell and enjoy your private view of the high desert, or just to snuggle up to a cozy fire.
Casa Bella's huge master suite can easily accomodate your largest pieces of bedroom furniture. However, with built in cabinetry and a massive walk-in closet, a traditional furniture set is unnecessary.

The walk-in closet has its own skylight, as does the master bath. Sun light abounds here in your private domain.

To the left, we see the built-ins (complete with a laundry bin) that you'll pass as you enter the master bathroom.
The over-sized spa tub is a perfect place to relax and soak, and features a "waterfall" faucet.
The shower is large and luxurious, with an adjustable height feature for the shower head. A built-in corner bench provides a place to sit, or a space for toiletries. A triple row of glass blocks allow the bright, southwest light to enter, while still providing privacy.
Double sinks, hand-tooled copper mirrors, custom tile, and the abundance of built-in cabinetry all add to the splendor of the master bath.

Dimmers on the light fixtures make it easy to get up in the night without waking your partner.

It doesn't get any better than this! You'll find it hard to leave your master suite. Quite possibly, the only thing that can lure you out is the amazing views that you'll encounter once you go outside . . .
